Training Options

1. Better play for everyone

This one day training course is aimed at practitioners who work with children, parents and carers. The course will enable practitioners to offer high value play with low cost resources within their settings. The day will provide a range of tools, resources and session plans so practitioners can share learning with families. The aim is to boost practitioners and families’ understanding of play and develop playwork skills, subsequently improving children’s play in childcare settings and at home.

2. Inclusive play

This one day course will provide participants with the necessary skills to provide play opportunities for all children. Sycamore Adventure staff will share their extensive experience in working with disabled children and young people and will support delegates to select appropriate tools, resources, activities and documentation to engage all children in play. Inclusive play will enable delegates to consider the implications for working with children with a range of impairments during this fun and interactive training course.

This six half day course is aimed at parents and carers who need support in playing with their children. The course provides delegates with cost effective solutions to play and aims to build the confidence of adults attending so that they can enhance the play opportunities of children in their care.

The course is ultimately run over six half day sessions with a consistent group of parents. Over the course of six weeks, the group will be provided with sound knowledge and skills surrounding children's play. The course will support parents to see the benefit of play to children's development, it will increase their understanding of the various forms that play can take and will enable them to improve the play opportunities that are available to their children.

Opening times

Term time: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday half or full day bookings from 9.30am to 12pm or 12.30pm to 3.15pm. Wednesday bookings from 9.30am to 12pm only.

School holiday booking: Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 12pm or Tuesday 9.30am to 12pm or 1pm to 3.30pm or a full day booking from 9.30am to 3.15pm.

 

Costs

Half Day (9.30am - 12pm / 12.30pm - 3.15pm): £275.00 + VAT.

  • Maximum of 30 people.

Full Day (9.30am - 3.15pm and only available during term time): £500.00 + VAT.

  • Maximum of 30 people.
